After your vows are exchanged and you can finally say you are husband and wife, an exit must occur! If not then, then the one right after your fun reception. Either way, you should add some fun details to celebrate!

Butterflies

There are many companies out there that provide butterflies for your grand exit. They are not harmed and create a very whimsical feel to your wedding day. Great pictures can be captured and no littering!

Bubbles

Blowing bubbles makes anyone feel young and fun. You can place tiny bottles in each person’s seat before the ceremony and the results are awesome. It is a great and playful option, and don’t worry, your dress won’t suffer if a bubble or two land on you 🙂

Traditional Confetti

When some brides think ‘confetti’ they might picture it in a cheesy way, but they couldn’t be more wrong! You can get so creative with different colors and shapes making them more personal. You can use your initials, your wedding day color palete, and fun designs.

Sparklers

If you’re having an evening wedding, sparklers are the best! It might be hard to see bubbles and confetti at night so brighten it up! They create an elegant look and you can have your photographer help you create awesome pictures.

You’ve found the dress, you’ve found the shoes, and now it’s time to start thinking about the other accessories you may need for your walk down the aisle. The one thing that completes any bridal look is a veil. They can be very romantic and when will you ever have another chance to wear one? Here at The Bustle, we have many different lengths and styles so we’ve created a condensed guide to choosing a veil!

The smallest veil style is called a Birdcage. Inspired by old Hollywood, this type of veil is made of a wide netting and frames the face. It is usually attached to the hair with a small comb and sometimes incorporates flowers, crystals, or even feathers!

Here is one example of a birdcage veil! How fun!

Shoulder length veils are a more traditional style are about 20 inches long.

A lovely Bel Aire shoulder length veil!

Probably one of the most popular veil styles is the fingertip length veil and …you guessed it, right at the fingertips or around the hand. A typical length for this veil is 36 inches.

Now if you want a more dramatic look, the Cathedral length is the way to go.  Typically these veils are 108 inches and line the back of your train.  If you don’t have a train or don’t want one, this veil will create the illusion of length during your ceremony.  Its perfect for a formal affair and great for pictures!

Now lets not forget the blusher! A blusher is the piece of tule that covers the brides face as she walks down the aisle. Traditionally, the groom will flip the blusher away from the bride’s face just before he kisses her. How romantic! Today, many brides choose not to wear a blusher and just have a veil that goes down her back.

Here is a great way to compare the different lengths.

What style will you choose for your wedding?

As a bride, the stresses of planning a wedding can take a toll on your memory, even when you think you have written everything down.

Here at The Bustle, we are prepared for brides who may have forgotten those last minute items! Here are a few items that you may have not thought of while in the last month of planning your big day!

Cake-Cutting Set:
The venue where your reception is may have a set for you to cut your cake with, but wouldn’t you want to have one that is yours. Imagine on your first wedding anniversary, it is time to cut the top tier of your wedding cake and using the same set as on your wedding day! *awww*

Ring Bearer Pillow:
How terrible would it be if minutes before you line up on your wedding day to walk down the aisle, you realize your ring bearer has no pillow to hold! Be sure not to forget this small but necessary item!

Toasting Flutes:
As you are listening to family members and your bridesmaids giving you the best speech, you are going to be asked to raise your glass! Why not toast with toasting flutes that were engraved with your names and wedding date so you can keep them afterwards!!

Garter Belt:
The garter toss is a fun moment during your wedding reception and the last thing you would want is to forget them. Yes, them as in plural! It is wise to get TWO garter belts, one for your groom to toss and one for a keepsake!

Lipstick/Lipgloss:
It is after the ceremony and you have had your first kiss as husband and wife. Now it’s time to take photos, but you realize that you need to retouch your lipstick and don’t have the matching color that you may have used. Be sure to purchase the lipstick you used when you got your make-up done so you can reapply it throughout the night.

Did you have these items on your list of things you may need?! xx

Starting her own business in 1990 with a store in New York, Vera Wang has established herself as the go to designer for wedding gowns. Women come in all shapes and sizes, so it is important for boutiques to have a variety of gowns for each body type! Here are The Bustle, we make sure that there is a gown for every bride that walks through our doors!

With help from The Knot, we decided to write our blog about different features on a gown that can help any bride with their “trouble spots”.

Woman with a larger bust sizes have a hard time finding a gown that does them justice, without spilling out of the gown. A great solution to this is by getting a gown with a V-Neckline! This Cymbeline Paris gown is one that we carry here at The Bustle!

Cymbeline Paris Exalto/Frisson

The next spot that some women are concerned about are the hips! To avoid this issue, we recommend going with a empire waistline gown that has a lot of visual interest at the top to draw the eyeline towards the face! This Maggie Sottero gown is a great choice, especially for a destination wedding!

Thirdly, if your trouble spot happens to be the tummy, we recommend going with a ruched bodice! This beautiful Ella Bridal gown is a fabulous find for anyone who is looking for a tummy-hiding gown and is also available at our boutique!

Last by not least, if you are a bride who wants your waistline to look small(and what bride doesn’t want that), go with an a-line gown! Different accessories such as a sash or belt, will help to show off that tiny waist of yours! A great option available here would be our Badgley Mischka gown!

Any bride planning their wedding is bound to run into stress inducing problems, so what better way to prepare for your big day than by having a RELAXING SPA DAY!

The basics with any spa treatment is to first understand the lingo!

1. Aromatherapy is the usage of different oils and scents diffusing in your treatment room.

2. Body scrubs are great to exfoliate your skin and ensuring that your skin will be soft on your wedding day. Generally, body scrubs are to be done a week or so out from your wedding day to ensure that there is no redness on your wedding!

3. Body Wraps or Masks is when mud or mask is lathered onto your body and you are wrapped with seaweed or algae and left to absorb all the benefits that come with such treatment.

4. Facials are meant to cleanse and moisturize the skin to have that great bridal glow. While facials are great, be sure to consult an esthetician about when to do your facials. Recommended is 2-3 weeks out from your wedding day, especially if you are doing any chemcial peels. Doing facials in advance is perfect time to allow the face to heal completely before applying your bridal make-up.

5. Manicures and Pedicures don’t need much explaining. A nice hand and foot massage while getting your nails done is the perfect icing on the pampering cake! As for timing, you can get your nails done by the day before to make sure that you have time the morning of your wedding!

6. Massage is what we all think of when we think of pampering! Laying out on a massage bed while you get all those wedding stress knots out is the perfect way to relax! Typically, there are three different types of massages to consider getting.

  • Swedish — what we think of as “traditional” massage, a soothing combination  of stroking, friction, kneading, and percussive movements.
  • Shiatsu — a Japanese therapeutic massage employing gentle finger pressure  on meridian points on your body, to eliminate energy blockages and relax  you.
  • Reflexology — the best foot rub you’ll ever get. Applying subtle pressure  to parts of your feet, the therapist is able to manipulate and release blocked  energy and emotion throughout your body.

HAPPY PAMPERING! xx The Bustle

Listen up ladies… time for a pep talk.

Planning a wedding is more than just a dress, it is an entire experience.  Unfortunately that experience can turn out to the super stressful, but no worries! I am here to remind you this is supposed to be fun and all about you!

Some people say the gown you choose depends on the venue.  Although this isn’t bad advice, and most brides do wear a ballgown in a ballroom and a destination gown on the beach, but who says you can’t wear the ballgown you fell in love with on the beach?  Prefer short dresses? Who said it has to be a gown? Show off those legs! Your dress can be as over the top or as simple as you want it because in the end… you’re the one wearing it!

You will get no where trying to please everyone involved in your wedding.  Don’t try to make everyone happy, and focus on yourself the most.  Take time to breath and actually enjoy the planning process itself because before you know it, its over.   You will never get to plan such an amazing day again, so why not make it a happy time? You and Mr Perfect have this opportunity to make the day special in any way that you want so there are no regrets and you can look back with a smile.

The number one rule is you have to ❤ LOVE ❤  your gown. If you love it, you’re happy.  You set the tone for the entire day, so when you come out ecstatic and ready for your day, the crowd will follow. 🙂
